The Spring Chinook salmon run goes from mid-March through late June. These famous fish are well-known for putting up a hard fight, as well as for their unmatched flavor. Spring Chinook range from 10 – 50 pounds, with an average weight of about 23 pounds. We usually start very early in the morning and fish from a covered, heated 22' jet boat. I provide either a BBQ or picnic lunch, soft drink beverages and a few snacks. I also provide all quality tackle and bait. We call it a day when we all mutually agree!
Trolling the Rogue Bay starts in earnest at the end of June and runs through the end of October. Catching 50-pounders is not uncommon and 25-pounders are about average. These fish run anywhere from 5 to 50+ pounds.
In October, I move to the Siuslaw River in Florence, Oregon. I have about 28 years of experience in this fishery. Fishing usually starts in earnest in October and runs into November, or until the fall rains shoot these fish out of tidewater. This is a popular fishery for me and it is best to book this trip early!
For Summer and Fall trips, bring you own lunch. Also remember your Oregon fishing license and tag, a camera, and extra snacks. Rain gear and layered clothing is highly recommended. Beer and alcohol okay. All ages welcome.

"He is a great fish and I must convince him, he thought. I must never let him learn his strength nor what he could do if he made his run. If I were him, I would put in everything now and go until something broke. But thank God, they are not as intelligent as we who kill them: although they are more noble and more able.”
